National Poetry Month Challenge: Face To Face

Alright my people!!! The last day of April has arrived!! Wow...time is flying by...geez!!

Anyhoo...I enjoyed sharing my poems with you these past 30 days! I love writing poetry and I really need to do it more often especially since I have a third poetry book that I want to publish!

Without further adieu here is Poem 30!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

FACE TO FACE

Face me in the day
Love is your reflection
Convincing are the words you speak
As you tell your needs of affection
Stronger than all
Is my belief that you truly care
Face to face, in your features
I see the happiness you aspire to share
Face me in anger
To reflect the thoughts in your head
Speaking fearful words, not in truth
Trying to recapture my heart with lies instead
Face to face, in your features
I can read your intense desperation
Rekindling the love is your mind set
Read me to learn I need patience
One face hides behind a mask
The secret face I desire not
Deepening the wounds I have given
Making you release the pain you got
Reflecting in your face is a grin
A grin of revenge seen to my eye
Your planned actions I don’t know
For your face gives no definite reply

National Poetry Month Challenge: Is It Love...

Hey Peeps!!

Here is poem 29! You ever been in a situation where you know you should leave but for whatever reason your desire for your relationship to go RIGHT outweighs your desire for a GREAT relationship.....what keeps you there? Most of the time we think its love but in actuality...it's FEAR!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

IS IT LOVE THAT KEEPS ME HERE?

I sit here wondering
What is wrong with me?
I know what you’re doing
Still whatever you say I believe

Late at night when you come home
I smell the scent of another woman’s perfume
Still I say nothing, pretending to be sleep
Watching you slowly sneak into the room

I don’t know why it never worries me
When you forget my birthday or our anniversary
Some people would say that there’s another woman
And I’d say, “He’s just a forgetful person”

But in the back of my mind I know what’s going on
I know it’s true what they say
Is it love that keeps me here?
Night after night, day after day

Putting up with your games
Thinking nothing has changed
But I know your love is gone
It’s probably best if I move on

Is it love that keeps me here?
By your side through thick and thin
Still being with you
Whether you lose or win

As I think about all the things you’ve done to me
All the names I’ve been called
What is keeping me here?
It’s not love at all

National Poetry Month Challenge: Never-Ending Pain

Heya!!! Poem 28!!!

Stay Blessed...Stay Tuned!

NEVER-ENDING PAIN

It was a nightmare in disguise
The desire for love blinded my eyes
The immediate attraction took me by surprise
My heart was bound to be broken but I didn’t realize
My eyes were deceived
Many lies believed
A lot of pain received
My mind has not been relieved
I got hurt in your game
My feelings for you are not the same
I hate the sound of your name
Your wild heart I could not tame
Your feelings were mistaken
A lot of emotions faken
My love was taken
From a nightmare I have awaken

National Poetry Month Challenge: Unexpected Twist

Hey Peeps!

Poem 27!! The month is almost over!!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

UNEXPECTED TWIST

It was my pleasure to be with him that night
He held me in his arms, so close, so tight
He showed me off to his friends like I was his trophy
I thought this was the start of a relationship with me
That night I felt so loved I didn’t want it to end
But he knew what he was doing and so did his friends
He was in love, was the impression he gave me
To my surprise, he had tricks up his sleeve

No warnings, no signs, to help me along the way
To see through his game, find no truth in what he had to say
It was all a big front; he had no real intentions to be with me
I didn’t give him what he wanted, so he felt he had to leave
He had one thing on his mind; but he said he had changed
I walked into his lies, fooled by his game
He didn’t seem to care, that I got hurt by this
I never thought it would come from him, an unexpected twist

National Poetry Month Challenge: Intoxicated

Hey Peeps!!! T. G. I. F!!!

It's time to get wasted!!!

Wasted on love that is...hahahaha!

Enjoy!

Stay Blessed...Stay Tuned!

Intoxicated

I’m so intoxicated
Intoxicated by your love
Mesmerized…electrified
Intoxicated by your love

I want to free my heart
Loosen the chains
Penetrated deep into my soul
Release me, let the love drain

My scream turns into a whisper
As I try to say no
I’m held captive by your love
It hurt so good, how can I let go?

I’m so intoxicated
Intoxicated by your love
I breathe you…I am you
How can I give this up?

National Poetry Month Challenge: I'm Through

Hey Peeps!!

This is the poem that I did as my monologue for Tyler Perry's Talent Search last year!!!

You can check out the video that I submitted as well!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

I’m Through

Take your claim, get back your freedom
Take your memories, I don’t need’em
Wipe away the tears, erase all your lies
Take back the excuses and the reasons why

Release me from your bondage and your drama
I need to be me, not compared to your mama
Keep your empty promises and your lonely nights
Give back my strength to walk away instead of fight

Give back my friends that you ran away from me
Give back my worth and my self-esteem
Take your unfaithfulness and your blame
Keep your immaturity and your mind games

Take your pain, take your disrespect
Keep your “I love you” as I live with my regrets
Tomorrow will be the day I begin my existence without you
It’s over, it’s finished, finally, I’M THROUGH!

National Poetry Month Challenge: Once In My Life

Hey Peeps!

Poem 24!! Enjoy!!

Stay Blessed...Stay Tuned!

Once In My Life

Once in my life I was afraid
You could not say anything worth believing
My ears were open, my eyes close
All things said I thought to be deceiving
My heart was crushed once
At that moment I became cold
I started living my life very cautiously
Fearing to feel and my fear grew bold
I wanted to be with many souls
I needed to have back up plans
I desired to experience it all
I was your “woman” but I had no “man”
I wanted the cares and attention
But hurt had me afraid from the start
I was crushed early in my life
Which placed a deep bruise on my heart
As I grew my way of thinking started to change
My eyes opened and I began to see
That being afraid hurt me more than taking chances
So I judge each one as individuals and enter each openly
There may be many souls to break my heart
But I allow every break to strengthen me
Because you’ll need my whole heart
To bond with my soul completely

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Invitation

Hey Peeps!! Happy Tuesday!!
Poem 23!

Stay Blessed.....Stay Tuned!

The Invitation

Would you think I’m crazy to want to know you beyond the flesh?
I want to get to know you from the inside
I want to know what makes you think the thoughts you think
Can I get to know you, the you, one often tries to hide?
Let’s get passed the impressions
And start off as being friends
Forget the materials you got
Let me know what you possess within
Let me get to know your inner being
Get so close our two hearts become a single
I want to feel your deepest feelings
Make your body shiver in places you never thought could tingle
And this is just from conversation alone
I want to understand the feelings in your heart just by speaking
Explore your desires, pleasures, and needs
I want to explore your being, very passionately
Let me caress your heart with my friendly words
I know you want this, your eyes don’t deny it
I want to get to know your intimate side
So…Am I Invited?

National Poetry Month Challenge: Absent

Day 22!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

Absent

There comes a day in everyone’s life
Where you realize the sun rose without the sound of birds
There comes a night in everyone’s life
Where you realize there’s a full moon without any stars
There comes a time in everyone’s childhood
Where you realize you’re not innocent anymore
There comes a time in everyone’s house
Where you realize the place has lost the feeling of home
There comes a time in everyone’s relationship
Where you realize there’s a couple without a bond
There comes a time in everyone’s love life
Where you realize the love has simply disappeared
There came a time in my life
Where I realized the sheets no longer shared your scent
There came a time in my life
Where I realized the bed lay heavy beneath the weight of your absent body
Today is the time
In my life
Where I realized
I am waking up
Alone

National Poetry Month Challenge: A Wondering Mind

Hey Peeps! So it's Day 21...as I'm reading over this poem I remember why I wrote it...LOL

I have A LOT of celebrity crushes....and I was thinking about them when I wrote this poem!!

Enjoy!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

A WONDERING MIND

I wonder if I took your hand
Would you lace your fingers between mine?
If I caressed it softly
Would you, then, caress mine?
I wonder if I looked into your eyes
Would they dance at the sight of me?
If I took your face into my hands
Would you smile shyly?
I don’t know if you would do these things
Since I’m not reality to you
But I just have to wonder
Would you feel for me what I feel for you?

I wonder if I stroked your body
Would you tingle from my fingertips?
If I kissed you on your ears
Would you, then, kiss my lips?
I wonder if I held you close to me
Would you press your body against mine?
If I rub you on your back
Would you gently rub mine?
Since to you I have yet to exist
I can’t say the things you’ll do
Until the day I become your reality
I’ll just have to assume

National Poetry Month Challenge: Love's Duplicity

Hey Peeps!!

DAY 20!! Enjoy!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

LOVE’S DUPLICITY

“I knew that there were three words to say that would change this person’s world. Three words that would change our relationship, I would then possess the title as ‘his girl’. I’m not ready for this yet, it is moving a little too fast. But if it’s not said, he may go; I want whatever we have to last. How can he love me in such a short period of time? It’s easy to mean that I love him, if I’m speaking from my mind.”

“I don’t know what it is about her that made me fall in love so fast. If she doesn’t feel the same way then how can it last? She’s different from everyone else, that’s why she’s so special to me. My love is true for her; I feel it in my heart deeply. She’s taking a while to respond but I’ll give her some time. I want it to be real in her heart like it is in mine.”

“I don’t think that I really love him even though I said so. After I returned I had no feelings. Where did they go? I have to tell him the truth that I lied to keep him with me. Three little words that will make him stay are the same words that’ll set him free.”

“How could she lie? Knowing how much she meant to me. Saying she loved me, knowing it had no meaning of sincerity. I was pulled into the world of deception, not able to see beyond the lies. Her love was an imitation, a delusion in disguise.”

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Silent Kiss

Hey Peeps!!

Poem 19!!

Stay Blessed...Stay Tuned

THE SILENT KISS

His gaze penetrated into me
I could feel the stare in my bones
Falling into his deep chocolate eyes
I suddenly wished he were gone
Reading my every expression
His eyes searched every inch of my face
Not wanting him to touch me
He moved forward, closing the space
When our lips kissed
What force made me close my eyes?
What drew my arms around him?
I succumbed to his passion before I realized
After our lips separated
No voice did they impart
We held each other’s gaze
The silence sank, like music, on my heart
Not a word to be said
I left the passion where it needed to stand
Slowly I walked away
Letting my fingers slip through his hand

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Breakfast

Hey Peeps!!

Poem #18!! Check it out! :-D

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

The Breakfast…Part 4

I noticed her as soon as we made our entrance
I watched her eyes following us to our seat
I saw him take a glance
And my heart rapidly started to beat
Did she know I was his wife?
Didn’t she know it’s our one year anniversary?
How can he ruin an important day of my life?
How can he break the vows he made to me?
Before the food even came
I put my ring in his hand
“I know about your love, whatever her name”
“I saw you at the beach having sex in the sand”
He stared at me, eyes filled with shock
He couldn’t find the words to speak
I didn’t need to hear any excuse
So I just rose to my feet
I walked over to her at last
With a smile, I extended out my hand
“I hope you enjoy your breakfast,”
“As much as you enjoyed my man”

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Bath

Hey Peeps hope you are having a marvelous day!!

Here is Poem #17!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

The Bath…Part 3

I awoke to wet kisses
Disturbing thoughts made my head hurt
I pushed his face away from mine
I suddenly remembered her satin panties and Hawaiian skirt

“What’s wrong with you?” he asked
I didn’t say a word
“Why is your ring on the nightstand?”
He had his nerve

The water from the shower fell on my body hard
I wanted to wash away the nastiness I shouldn’t feel
“Can I join you sweetheart?” he asked
Those words made fire burn from my head to my heels

I felt his arms around my waist
It seemed like I was being suffocated by the steam
Flashbacks of the beach popped in my head
My nightmare was his dream

He started kissing me the way he kissed her
I pushed him away with both hands
He looked at me with confusion
“What? You can’t make love to your husband?”

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Bed

Hey Peeps so wanted to share Poem #16!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

The Bed…Part 2

I just laid there in the cold bed
With the covers pulled over my head
Determined not to let my tears fall
I was shocked more than anything at all
Just before I was about to sleep
I heard the sounds of your feet
The door shut and your clothes hit the ground
Tiptoeing to the bed, making the slightest sound
You laid on your back and sighed deeply
I placed my ring on the stand beside me
I thought of the two of you and nothing more
I knew you were sleeping peacefully when you began to snore

National Poetry Month Challenge: The Beach

Okay.....I'm back on track now!! Shall we continue ha!!

Day 15!!

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned!

The Beach…Part 1

I watched you interlock your fingers with hers
You entangled her silky locks around your hand
The desire burned deeply within your eyes
You caressed the body covered with sand
Water rushed against her body
Not expecting the water to be as cold as that
She made a soft sigh, grabbed your shoulders
And put a slight arch in her back
I watched you follow the curve of her breasts
With your fingertips, making the slightest touch
Your tongue slowly made circles around her neck
She smiled like she just wanted you so much
You began to kiss her all over her body
From her feet to her knees
You began to massage her thighs with your mouth
As she yearned, you pleased
As your bodies interlocked
With pleasure, her toes sank into the sand
As I watched you, I wondered
Did you think about the ring you placed on my hand?
