SKINS: New Show on MTV
SO....people have been really voicing their opinions about this new show on MTV, Skins. The show is about teens participating in sex and drugs and being able to successfully hide it from their parents. Some parents want the show removed because the cast is underage. But COME ON PEOPLE....y'all don't watch Intervention? Majority of the addicts on that show said they started drinking and doing drugs as young as 7yrs old!
I mean how do you get drugs and alcohol at 7yrs old?!! So wake up parents....this show is a true portrayal of what a lot of teens are doing....I don't think that it will encourage teens to partake in these unhealthy activities..the ones that are going to experiment...will experiment; the ones that won't...won't....
But I do think that these parents need to stop having a hissy fit and use this show as a platform to talk to their kids about drugs, alcohol and sex! They get started younger and younger these days!!

Hair Goals- 2011
Hey Y'all
Wassup....so with the new year I've been making a lot of goals.....and I've decided to make a hair goal as well.
My hair is natural (not relaxed). I've been natural off and on since '99, and I've big chopped 3 times since...the last time I big chopped was in June '05. Here are pics:
The reason I chopped my hair off so much was out of pure frustation...I would get frustrated with my hair for whatever reason and I would get scissor happy and have this "I'll teach you" type attitude and just whacked it off. My goal has always been to have long hair so a few months of wearing my hair short I'll crave to have "hair" again and for awhile I was wearing a lot of weaves and wigs...then in '07 I started wearing my real hair out...not relaxed of course. I had to learn how to take care of my hair all over again.
I'm natural but I'm not chemical free...I love color...however, in 2007 I colored it too much.
I didn't have any bad experiences...but I noticed the more I colored the more my curl pattern was less defined. I decided to let the color grow out completely. So for a year and a half I kept my hair hidden with wigs.
Fast Forward to 2009...I started wearing my real hair out again and I did something to get my hair really tangled...I got scissor happy again out of frustration and chopped off about 3-4 inches of my hair. That day I vowed to not use scissors out of frustration anymore. I started looking at YouTube and getting advice on how to take care of natural hair...the proper way to handle it and care for it. I learned the keys to retaining length. It's not about growing hair...it's about retaining the length of the hair that you grow. My hair goal for this year is to retain all 6 inches of growth. I must make sure that I do not slack off on my hair care and I must be very patience and gentle.
Every three months I will do a LENGTH CHECK to keep track of my growth!
Here is my starting point:
Keep you posted!!!

Step Into Your Season!!
Hey People!
Just a quick note here: I wanted to share with you a message that I received from Joel Osteen today!!
2011 is time for us to hold on to our dreams and desires....not give up....it's time for us to be strong, faithful and live up to our full potential!
It's time to make moves toward our goals and build a brighter and better future. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!!
Joel shared a declaration for you for this year: By Faith declare: “2011 is my year! I’m stepping into a new season. I’m letting go of what didn’t work out. I’m putting on a new attitude and enlarging my vision. I’m going to go into this year with a new fire and greater expectancy. I’m pressing forward to step into my season!”
Speak this over your life, over your circumstance and believe that it shall come to pass. BELIEVE and if you waver remind yourself of this....remind yourself of GOD's promises and love and know that He's faithful to those that believe!
Do your part and God will definitely do his!
Here's a prayer for you:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word which sets me free. I declare by faith that my due season is here. I will stand strong, I will keep believing, I will keep praying, I will stay faithful to Your Word. Thank You for the harvest of blessing in store for me in my future. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Vacuum Law of Prosperity
Hey People
A few posts back I mentioned to you about clothes swapping and I said how I was always giving away my clothes and shoes or what have you ever since I was a little girl and as a result of that habit I've always had more than enough of those items. I never really gave stuff away expecting to receive those things back in abundance, I just did it because I knew that there were others out there less fortunate than I and I could help them by giving them something I no longer had interest in. Some things never change...I'm naturally a giving person (to an extinct I guess ha!)
Well the Vacuum Law of Prosperity states: "The universe cannot put good into your hand, until you let go of what you are holding in it." You have to give to receive, you have to let go of the bad to make room for the good, you have to release the old to open yourself up for the new!
Wes Hopper wrote a post about the Prosperity Law and I want to share it with you here:
"The 5th principle of gratitude is giving. There are two major reasons why giving is so important. The first is that life is a flow of energy. If all you have is a flow in, but no flow out, you're stopped up. The flow in will slow way down.
The second reason is that what we focus on grows. If you don't give, you're focusing on not having enough. Do you want "not enough" to grow in your life? Giving isn't always money. You can give time, talent, support and physical items.
Just remember that we tend to get paid back in the same currency we give. If you want to get money, give money. The amount you give is only important in that it's a measure of how prosperous you believe you are. As you might expect, the more prosperous you think you are, the more you give and the more you receive.
You don't give to receive, but you give out of gratitude for what you have. No matter how little you think you have, there are people with less." (c) www.dailygratitude.com

So continue to show your gratitude by giving out of the kindness of your heart....it will come back to you in abundance!!
Stay Blessed!
