A few posts back I talked about using your words to change your situation and I wanted to revisit that. If you haven't read it yet, you can do so by clicking here. We have all heard about using affirmations, which are positive statements, in order to get the results that we desire to manifest in our lives. I believe in affirmations, however, I use what I like to call Gratitude Statements, in this post I cover some of the gratitude statements that I use. I believe that keeping an attitude of gratitude and your mind focused on God's promises for your life will help you manifest the positive results that you desire.
Here are some examples of affirmations that you may have read in a book or online are:
I am currently reading a book called The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. It's a good book. I have read a few books on this subject before but I really like this one. It's easy to follow and understand. The techniques listed in the book are very specific and helpful. I have not finished it yet but I've made a lot of notes.
I am wealthy
I am rich
Money is attracted to me like a magnet
I am healthy
You get the point. Well if you are not rich (yet) and you are not in the best of health...saying these affirmative statements may cause a mental war! If you are stating with your mouth, "I am rich", yet you are coming back a few seconds later with that negative inner voice that says, "No, you're not, you can barely pay your rent"...then guess what....you're not going to manifest riches in your life because you just canceled out that affirmation with that negative statement.
In order for affirmations to work you have to BELIEVE that it is true. For some, this is easier said than done. It's important to FEEL as if it is already received. That's where FAITH comes into play. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen(HEB 11:1, KJV). Like I said in my earlier post, you have to look through your eyes of faith and call things that are NOT as though they ARE.

I was going to buy the book for my mom and brother but I just so happened to Google Mr. Murphy's name and found a PDF of the book online for free. Click Here if you would like to read the book! I highly recommend that you do!
In my next post, 5 Ways To Make Affirmations Work For You!!, I will give you some suggestions on what you can do to help you to bypass that mental war. We all want, or should want, to live a life of pure abundance and prosperity. But changing our mental programming may take some time. It took us years to learn how to think incorrectly, so don't expect to learn how to think correctly today and then by tomorrow you are cured, sort of speak. This is a life changing process....each day is a new day to start anew, to start better, start fresh, and to start thinking correctly!
Stay Tuned and God Bless!!
interesting I am not always good with this. I'll check out the book

Yea it's a process...a life long process that we all have to work on!!! Let me know what you think about the book!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on changing my negative thoughts. Now while I've come far, I still have a ways to go, but it's definitely a work in progress. But what I have realized is that truly great and beautiful things big and small happen when you change your mindset. Thanks for the link for the book, this one is on my long list of positive thinking books, I want to read.
