New Year's Resolutions!!

So you made any resolutions?

Well I haven’t really made any resolutions, I do know that I intend to do better, be better, work harder, and play even harder!!

I was reading something from Wes Hopper and he was talking about how we make resolutions to do better but we are putting new ideas on top of old beliefs. So you have to change your beliefs and old habits so that you can be the better person that you want to be.
He was talking about not forgetting the DENIALS! Here is an excerpt from his post:

“We try affirmations and afformations, too, but they don't help for long unless we're really determined. Here's why that happens: you can't put a new idea on top of an old belief system and create new behavior. You know that when you hire a painter to repaint your house, the first thing they do is clean and scrape the surface. New paint doesn't stick to flaky old paint for very long. It's the same with new ideas. We have to clean house to make them stick.

That's why every affirmation should be preceded with a corresponding denial statement. That's where you deny that the old belief has any power over you. Important: you don't deny that the old belief exists; it certainly does, but you deny that it has any power over you. Let's suppose that you want to move forward on your dream, but you're scared because you don't feel qualified.

Denial: "I deny that this feeling of being unqualified has any power over me and my ability to create my dream."

Affirmation: "I move forward courageously taking action and creating my dream. I know what to do and I do it."

Sounds simple, but it's very powerful. Classic spiritual teacher Emilie Cady said that denials cleanse the mind. It makes room for the new. So when you're doing your New Year's Resolutions, do a little mental housecleaning first.”  ©Wes Hopper www.dailygratitude.com

So when you are sitting down to write out your resolutions, keep this in mind! You have to work on getting rid of the old so you can make room for the new!

I look forward to sharing with you all the joys that 2011 will bring!! May God Bless You and Your Family with all your heart’s desires! Set your goals, accomplish your goals, and fulfill those dreams! Give your all and you will get much back in return!
